Edward Kuehner

Police Officer Edward Kuehner succumbed to injuries received two months earlier when his patrol car was struck by a streetcar on Market Street near Grand Avenue.

He and another officer were returning to the station after answering a burglary call when they were hit. Officer Kuehner never fully recovered from his injuries and contracted blood poisoning, which led to his death.

Officer Kuehner had served with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and six children.
