Sergeant Jordon was killed while responding to a disturbance call with his emergency equipment activated. His patrol car was struck by a tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 231 and Highway 41A.

Sergeant Jordon had been with the agency for 29 years and was survived by his wife, son, five sisters, and one brother.

I was saddened when I learned of Officer Jordan’s passing. He was a good police officer. One of the best. I lived in Shelbyville back in the late 80s to ‘93. I worked at Cone Oil on North Main. Officer Jordan and Officer Rufus always made sure I was safe. I sincerely appreciated them both. Officer Jordan always had a smile on his face.
