Beverly Jo Taylor

Corrections Employee Beverly Taylor, a prison teacher, was stabbed to death at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility while supervising an inmate who had been sentenced to life in prison.

The inmate received an additional life sentence after being convicted of kidnapping and murder. He will be eligible for parole in 2056.

Corrections Employee Taylor was survived by her husband and mother.

I worked the day Bev was brutally murdered by an inmate on death row for murdering another woman. As a member of the emergency response team I responded to the scene. She was a beautiful, positive individual who worked to help the inmates. When I left SOCF I went to her grave site and told her I would never forget.
