Floyd Alexander Knight

Officer Floyd Knight was shot and killed while on a stakeout of a 7/11 at 810 North Edgefield Avenue in Dallas.

At approximately 10:15 pm., a suspect entered and robbed the store at gunpoint. He forced the clerk into a storeroom and then shot Officer Knight in the head, killing him. The suspect fled with $98 but was arrested four days later and subsequently sentenced to life in prison.

Officer Knight had been with the Dallas Police Department for two years. He was survived by his expectant wife and daughter. His son was born a few days after he died.
