Trooper Troy Hogue was shot and killed while conducting an accident investigation on I-20 in Howard County.

The suspect was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Trooper Hogue had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for seven years and had previously served with the Big Spring Police Department for 10 years.
