Larry Joel Kite

Patrolman Larry Kite was shot and killed when he interrupted a burglary at a local plumbing store in the downtown business district. When he failed to return at the end of his shift other officers began to search for him. His body was located Christmas morning. No suspects were ever identified in his murder.

Patrolman Kite had served with the Mineral Wells Police Department for three years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

I am Larry's cousin. My mama is Sylvia, sister to Aunt Elsie, Larry's mom. We were at Aunt Ollie's house Christmas break of 1971.. I remember visiting with Nancy and Annette, and Sheila Then hearing the terrible, sad news on Christmas day. I would love to contact y'all.
