Oh man one year I had the opportunity to hang out with Officer Hunter, and Officer Merritt. We worked in adjoining districts and we hung out for Officer Hunters birthday. We went out and had drinks at a local bar at 15th and Fairmount, that is now condos or apartments. Every time I pass that intersection, I think about that night. A few nights later, I couldn't hang out with them because I was on morning shift, and Officer Hunter was killed, and Officer Merritt was seriously wounded by some thug who had just got released from prison. I will always remember my friend Officer Hunter. One more memory. It was snowing one day and I drove him home. On the way an old man was stuck in the snow. I hopped out of the car, and Officer Hunter after saying why, jumped out also, and helped free the man from the snow drift. He turned out to be a Baptist minister. God put both of us in the right place and time. RIP my friend!
