As a rookie coming out of the Academy. Our patrol jackets were on back order. We had to go on the street with our blouse coat. When Officer Hunter seen me. He laughed and told me I might as well go out on the street with a sign that said Rookie if I was going to wear that coat. He gave me a old patrol jacket to wear. Never been so proud to wear something used.
That was almost 30 years ago. I'm now retired.
