Frederick Christian Kielhorn

Trooper Frederick Kielhorn was killed in an airplane crash in McMinnville, Oregon, while extraditing a prisoner from Lompac, California, to Yamhill County.

The plane struck several trees and crashed as it attempted to land. Another trooper and the Yamhill County sheriff were seriously injured in the crash, but the prisoner was unharmed. The prisoner remained with the injured trooper and accompanied him to the hospital before he was taken back into custody.

Trooper Kielhorn had served with the Oregon State Police for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
