I remember and miss you, brother. I tell my deputies about you every October 11. A man is never truly gone until he is forgotten. I will never forget you or the kindness and lessons that you showed me. Thank you for all that you did to guide me as an 18 year old kid. I hope I have made you proud. 32 years since 1990 in the academy together and now my career will soon end. The lesson of your sacrifice burned into me and helped keep me vigilant and safe all these years. I look forward to the day that I can see you again, hug your neck and we’ll go fishing in heaven’s version of the river in Del Rio.
