Officer Albert Johnson was accidentally shot and killed by a friend while attempting to shoot a sick dog that belonged to the man.

When the man missed the shot, Officer Johnson attempted to grab the gun, but it discharged, shooting him.

Officer Johnson had been employed with the Miami Police Department for two years, and was survived by his wife.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 85th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect. Your memory will always be remembered and revered.
