Jesse Roger Jenkins

Trooper Jesse Jenkins was shot and killed inside the Montgomery County Sheriff's office by a prisoner.

The suspect had just appeared before a judge for arraignment on burglary charges. He was transported back to the Montgomery County Sheriff's office. When one deputy answered a phone call, the suspect grabbed his .32 caliber service revolver and attempted to escape. Trooper Jenkins drew his service revolver and the two men exchanged shots, inflicting fatal chest wounds on each other.
Trooper Jenkins is survived by his wife and two sons.
