Edgar Eugene Isgitt

Constable Edgar Isgitt was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man for whipping his wife.

He succumbed to his wound the following day. The suspect was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 20 years.

Constable Isgitt was the elected constable of the Harrisburg Precinct 2. He was survived by his wife and four daughters.

Constable Isgitt had four daughters. One of those daughters, Olivia, was my husband’s grandmother. She passed when my father-in law was a little boy so we never got to know her. We can never know the void that is created by the taking of a life. Godspeed, Edgar.
