Police Officer Charles Hogan succumbed to injuries received two weeks earlier when he was struck by a car while directing traffic at the intersection of Theresa Avenue and Laclede Avenue during rush hour.

He had been with the agency for 28 years and was assigned to the Ninth District. He was survived by his wife and two children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
