William S. Hart

Officer William Hart Hart was shot and killed when he caught a man attempting to break into his van outside of his apartment in the 200 block of SE 9th Court.

The primary suspect was stabbed to death in an unrelated incident before police had a chance to question him. Details of the case have been left untold to preserve the integrity of the investigation. The case remains unsolved.

Officer Hart had served with the Hallandale Police Department for five years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
