Clyde William Harrison

Patrolman Clyde Harrison was shot and killed when he and his partner attempted to stop a stolen car at the corner of Truman and Oak Streets.

As the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, one of the occupants opened fire, killing Patrolman Harrison and wounding his partner.

A $1000 reward was offered for the men's arrest, but they were never found.

Patrolman Harrison had served with the Kansas City Police Department for nine years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 60th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
