Sergeant Harold Hanning was killed in a plane crash in Wooster Township. He was assisting the roundup of cattle that had been set free in a traffic accident on Route 30 in Wayne County.
Sergeant Hanning had served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for over five years. He was survived by his wife, two children, and parents.
