Manuel Ocasio-Serrano

Officer Manuel Ocasio-Serrano was shot and killed when he intervened with a group of individuals acting suspiciously in a car in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.

Officer Ocasio-Serrano noticed the presence of four persons acting suspiciously in a vehicle that was parked outside the residence of his girlfriend. When he made contact with them, one got out of the car and assaulted him. Another person inside the vehicle shot Ocasio-Serrano in the abdomen, and then shot him again while he was lying on the ground.

Officer Ocasio-Serrano had served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for almost 7 years and was assigned to the Tactical Operations Unit in Ponce. He is survived by his parents and a child.
