Alexander Clarence Haddock

Police Officer Alexander Haddock succumbed to injuries received one year earlier when he was shot by a burglary suspect.

He had responded to El Segundo High School on a burglary call and became engaged in a shootout with one of the two men who had broken into the school. He was able to return fire and kill the subject but received a gunshot wound to the leg. The second subject was arrested by another officer.

Doctors were not able to remove the bullet and he died as the result of complications.

Officer Haddock had served the El Segundo Police Department for 14 years. He was survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
