I had the honor working with Richard as a Reserve Officer for the County. Richard and I spent time together in the patrol car many nights. I remember him on a traffic stop in the middle of the night with a female driver on Hwy 3 near Bay Shore. The female was so upset and crying because she missed the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton. Rick had the lady pull up to the store parking lot to rest and to calm down. Richard offered her some coffee from his thermos. Just a great guy all around.
