Frances Irene Galvin

Trooper Frances Galvin was struck and killed by a vehicle while investigating an accident on Route 50, near 25th Lane, east of Pueblo.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day.

Trooper Galvin had served with the Colorado State Patrol for 15 months. She was the first female trooper with the Colorado State Patrol to be killed in the line of duty. She was survived by two daughters, a son, parents, five sisters, and two brothers.
