William E. Funkhouser

Constable William Funkhouser was shot and killed after tracking a burglary suspect into the hills of San Dimas.

He attempted to arrest the man on the Santa Fe railroad tracks, one mile east of San Dimas. The suspect started struggling when he was cornered and shot Constable Funkhouser with a handgun.

Constable Funkhouser was the elected Constable of the San Dimas Judicial District. He was survived by his wife and nine children.
