I was a young patrol officer in Tell City working alone that morning when this call came out. I was first on the scene and to locate Deputy Flamian. 44 years ago and I still can see the scene, smell the fuel and radiator liquids on the pavement as well as hearing the sounds of hot metal cooling down. I learned of how the life of an officer can be taken while just driving to work on a quite Sunday morning in small town America. Life is precious, live it with your loved ones, family and friends to the fullest.
