Alfred Charles Evans

Police Officer Alfred Evans was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Route 26 railroad underpass.

He encountered a roll of wire that had fallen off of a truck in the underpass. Another car struck him as he was clearing the debris from the roadway and rolling up the wire. A coroner's jury cleared the driver who struck him of any fault.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 55th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
