Clarence J. Erickson

Patrolman Clarence Erickson was shot and killed when he stopped a suspect at a roadblock who had just shot Traffic Officer Lee Murphy of the St. Croix County Traffic Police.

The suspect shot Patrolman Erickson through his neck as he fled from his car. Other patrolmen returned fire, striking the suspect five times and killing him.

Traffic Officer Murphy succumbed to his wounds two years later.

Patrolman Erickson was survived by his expectant wife.
