One of four children, I was almost two years old when my father, Donald W. Downs, Sr. died. My brother, Donald W. Downs, Jr., who passed away at age 81 on October 15, 2023, was a police officer as well working in P.G. County and was involved in C.O.P.S. Police officers are our protectors and do such a wonderful job every day to keep us safe. We must continue to support them in every way we can and appreciate what they do.

My father and brother will live in my heart forever. They are my heroes.
