November 23rd is a particularly dark day on the calendar of North Carolina Law Enforcement, for it reminds us of the loss of you, Edmond Cannon in Charlotte and Jeffrey Jones in Pender County. Though the years of your sacrifices are different, your devotion to duty and fidelity to the canons of our profession are the same. I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I did have the honor of joining the ranks of your comrades in paying final tribute to you. I hope you somehow know that we know how your life mattered and that you are still remembered.
