55 years ago I was21 and home for the summer, working in the Gulf station in Spring Glen (known amongst the guys who hung out there as The Glen.)

We were shocked to learn of Frank’s accident sand death. Frank was our favorite cop on the beat. He was a friend, a confidant, a role model. We could count on him above the other officers on the beat, I remember talking with him about his upcoming marriage and how excited he was. We admired and respected and trusted him.

Some of us drove out to the site of the accident and some of us went to his funeral service on Wooster Square. We couldn’t believe he was dead. He was only eight years older than me. We weren’t yet adjusted to losing friends as we sadly became after 1965. Frank’s death had a powerful impact on me!

Last week he floated into my consciousness and using my 21st century awareness I googled him expecting to get perhaps the news articles. I didn’t expect to find this website. Today is Memorial Day and the right time to Memorialize Frank. If none of his family see this I have posted this in the hope that they might it in the knowledge that it will be out there.

Frank was an important force in my life. Fifty five years after his death I still miss him . Bless him and keep him. He made a difference!
