Carl Robert D'Abadie, Sr.

Lieutenant Bobby D'Abadie succumbed to injuries he received in a motorcycle crash on Lobdell Avenue in Baton Rouge on Friday, March 30, 1984.

Lieutenant D'Abadie was traveling on the inside lane of Lobdell Avenue when a truck turned onto the road from Choctaw Road and struck Lieutenant D'Abadie. The driver did not see him since a car on the outside lane blocked Lieutenant D'Abadie's motorcycle.

He was transported to Baton Rouge General Hospital with extensive brain damage. He never recovered and passed away a week later.

Lieutenant D'Abadie had been with the Baton Rouge Police Department for 26 years. He was survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, and parents. One of his sons became an officer with the agency.
