Officer First Class Carroll Creeger was killed in a motorcycle crash while on patrol on Sykesville-West Friendship Road about two miles south of Sykesville.
His motorcycle struck a patch of ice and he was thrown to the ground.
Officer Creeger had served with the Maryland State Police for just over three years. He was survived by his wife, parents, and three siblings.
