Officer Ignacio Conchos and Officer John Davis were shot when they entered a bar to search for a bank robbery suspect. Officer Conchos died at the scene and Officer Davis died one month later from his wounds.

The suspect, an illegal alien, was convicted of two counts of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Officer Conchos was survived by his wife and four children.
