David Wayne Clark

Patrolman Clark was killed in an automobile during a pursuit at approximately 0400 hours. Patrolman Clark began chasing a vehicle on Kickapoo Street and pursued the vehicle about three miles out of town. Patrolman Clark's vehicle then left the roadway, overturned after hitting an embankment and burst into flames.

The suspect was never charged due to a lack of evidence.

Patrolman Clark was survived by his parents, brother and two sisters.

David, I think about you almost everyday of my life, and I visit your grave site every time I visit Oklahoma. I will never forget the friendship we formed as we rode as a 2 man unit on nights. Many times I reflect on what might have been different if I had not transferred to day shift just 1 week prior to you death. Again you are always in my thoughts brother in blue!
