Hunter,
2 years ago we were sitting in the chiefs office discussing shifts. I had my brothers bachelor party. You said you would work your shift taking it back from me and little did we know you took my place that day. I’ll never forget the first time meeting you. You came in wearing a MN Wild sweat shirt and opening you bag from Kwik Trip with your food. You were so enthusiastic, cheerful and just infectious laughter sitting there talking to you and Chief Steffen.

As time went on I learned from you and how you did patrolling and what we did on our shifts. Things we could improve on and things we did differently but also what we did the same. Showing you the Guardian Angel light and you asking what I needed that for but you also thinking that it was a cool thing to have.

There was countless times we would talk about life and the girls in our lives. How you were so close to getting the ring for your girlfriend and giving me (*@& on when I was going to find mine. Those talks were one of the best things we could’ve done besides actually patrolling together.

The week that I left and 2-3 days before you made the ultimate sacrifice we met in the chiefs office and you wanted my MN Wild Jersey. You wanted one just like it and asked where I got it and I was looking online to show you were you could get it, and that was the last time I saw you alive.

I still can’t thank you enough for switching and taking my place. It would be way better to still have you here but because of you I’m able to be a dad. It’s because of you that I was able to welcome my baby girl and be the dad she needs. You will forever and always be apart of my life and one of my closest friends. Rest in peace, Brother.
