Sergeant Theresa Simon suffered a fatal heart after responding to several calls the day prior. She had answered a fight call with emergency sirens and lights. After that, she responded to an alarm call where she thoroughly searched the premises for suspects or victims.

Sergeant Simon had served with the Slidell Police Department for 20 years. She was survived by her husband, a Lieutenant with the Slidell Police Department, two sons, parents, two brothers, and a sister.

She was posthumously promoted to Sergeant.

hey mom, it’s peyton. drew is all grown up now, going into pre-K! and i’m going into junior high! can you believe i’m going to be 13? dad is doing great, same as the whole family. i just wish when i try out for the baseball team, you could be there. i made a lot of new friends from this camp that i go to, and drew has made a lot of friends. dad is also enjoying retirement, and you would be so proud of him!!
