John Michael Bowe

Correctional Officer John Bowe died from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty at the Missouri Eastern Correctional Center in Pacific, Missouri.

Officer Bowe had served with the Missouri Department of Corrections for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, parents, and seven siblings.

Beginning in early 2020, due to the requirements of their job, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders throughout the United States contracted COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic. Hundreds of law enforcement officers died from medical complications as a result of contracting the virus while remaining on duty and interacting with the community.

Officer Bowe,
On today, the 1st anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Missouri. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There Is no tougher job in Law Enforcement then that of a Corrections Officer.
