Border Patrol Agent Enrique Rositas died after contracting COVID-19 during a presumed exposure while on duty at the McAllen Station.

Agent Rositas was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He had served with the United States Border Patrol for 22 years and was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

Beginning in early 2020, due to the requirements of their job, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders throughout the United States contracted COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic. Hundreds of law enforcement officers died from medical complications as a result of contracting the virus while remaining on duty and interacting with the community.

On today, the 1st anniversary of your death death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but also when you served with the USAF as well. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
