Virgil Arthur McGee

Special Officer Virgil McGee was struck and killed by an eastbound passenger train at Elm Creek Bridge, about two and one-half miles west of Abilene, Texas.

He had been assigned to guard the bridge as part of the military's efforts to protect troop movements toward the Mexican border.
