Special Agent William Garrison was struck and killed by a switch engine in the Louisville and Nashville Railroad's Howell Yards in Evansville, Indiana.

Special Agent Garrison was a U.S. Army veteran of the Spanish-American War and had served with the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and two children.
