Robert Mansfield Buck

Special Agent Robert Buck was shot and killed while conducting an investigation in Hancock County, Mississippi. He and another agent were conducting surveillance of a still when two armed men arrived. The agents ordered the men to surrender but were met with gunfire. Agent Buck was fatally wounded.

A man, 40, who fired the fatal shot, and his son-in-law 25, were arrested and charged with murder. The gunman testified he did not know the men were agents. He was acquitted and charges against his son-in- law were dropped.
