This is my Great Great Grandfather. After years of searching for information on his line of duty death, someone clipped an article from the August 22, 1903 Tampa Tribune and posted it on an ancestry site. From that point on we were able to uncover all kinds of information leading to him getting recognized. We want to thank everyone for the time and effort but especially the Desoto County Sheriff’s Officer for recognizing his line of duty death.
In January of this year I retired from the Tampa Police Department. I have gone to the Police Memorials numerous times and I had always wanted to get his name on the Memorial wall in Tallahassee, FL and Washington, DC. Now with this honor what we felt was the impossible may happen. This is very important for my family and it is never too late to honor the fallen.
