We worked together in Santa Ana. We became sergeants in different L.A. offices. We met halfway and had lunch together. We both had special needs kids - he had it much harder than I can ever imagine. I said, "Steve, how do you do it?". He answered, "All you can do is love your children". It sounds so simple, but that statement had a profound effect on my life. He lives forever in my memories. I loved the man and I miss him.
