Sergeant Louis Stiger was accidentally shot and killed at the Alamogordo Army Air Field, New Mexico, when a .45 caliber service weapon held by another MP was accidentally discharged.
The round fatally wounded Sergeant Stiger and wounded a second MP in the leg.
Sergeant Stiger was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was survived by his parents.
