Gregory Zane Owens, II

Master Patrolman Gregory Owens succumbed to injuries sustained six years earlier when his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver on March 17th, 2002.

He was responding to a disturbance call with his emergency equipment activated when the drunk driver turned in front of him. The crash caused Patrolman Owens to suffer injuries to his back and neck, forcing him to medically retire from the department. His condition continued to worsen and he died as a result of the injuries on February 17th, 2008.

Master Patrolman Owens was a U.S. Navy and Oklahoma Air National Guard veteran. He had served with the Catoosa Police Department for 11 years and previously served with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. He is survived by his two daughters.

Officer Owens,
On today, the 17th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Armed Forces. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
