George Dillon

Deputy Sheriff George Dillon and Deputy Sheriff William Ellis were shot and killed while attempting to arrest several military deserters between Breeden and Dingess, West Virginia.

The subject who shot them turned himself in 18 months later and was sentenced to life in prison.

Deputy Dillon was survived by his wife.

I too have heard the stories of Grandpa Dillon and am glad to see relatives I didn't know I had! I heard his brothers waited for the shooter to be released and when he was he didn't make it far from the prison door before he too was gunned down. I would love to see pictures you may have.
