James S. White

Game Warden James White was shot and killed when he was called to assist prohibition agents who were in a dispute with a landowner. One of the prohibition agents shot and killed him. The agent said he had the right to kill him because he interfered with an arrest. The agent was charged with murder and fired from his job. On January 1, 1927, the agent was acquitted and given his job back.

Warden White was survived by one child.
