Agent Arthur Fadness suffered a fatal heart attack while conducting a raid for illegal gambling and liquor at a church picnic.
As agents attempted to seize some of the gambling equipment the crowd of 100 people became disruptive and began pushing the agents. Agent Fadness was carrying some of the equipment to his car when he suddenly collapsed.
Agent Fadness had served with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for 25 years. He was survived by his wife and four children.
