As one of his grandchildren, this was an acknowledgement of his death that his widow and children would have appreciated. My father was the oldest child at 16 and the youngest, my uncle was 18 months old. It reflects in the death certificate he was shot through the heart with the bullet entering in his back. My father said he turned and shot the suspect. A wound that was near the heart. Policing continues to be difficult and prayers for the brave people who protect our lives.
