Edward Horace Breen

Sergeant Edward Breen was killed in an automobile crash near the intersection of Pershing Road and Hermitage Avenue.

His patrol car had crashed into a metal post and was found with its emergency lights activated. It was believed that he was chasing another vehicle when the crash occurred.

Sergeant Breen had served with the Chicago Police Department for 30 years. He was survived by his wife, father, sister, and two brothers.
