View all 4 ReflectionsSamuel Lou Baucom was my great-grandfather. I never knew him, but his wife Nellie, my great-grandmother, was a part of my life until she passed away more than 50 years ago when I was just 15 years old. My family never talked about Samuel much, so as not to upset my great-grandmother, but I did know that he had worked for a sheriff's office and had been accidentally shot and killed. I have a picture of him where I can see it often. Rest in peace grandpa. I wish I had been able to know you.
