"After his mother Anna Skillman's death her second husband abandoned her children Arthur Walker, George Hunter and Frank Wm. Hunter. Her Brother Isaac Newton Skillman (Civil War Veteran 3rd Ohio Cavalry) went to Malcolm, NE and found two of the youngsters living in a cardboard box and begging for food. He brought Arthur Walker and Frank Wm. Hunter back to Ohio. George was thought to have been taken out west by a family. Isaac searched for him but he was never found." Perhaps these events influenced Frank to become an officer. Rest in Peace Frank.
