Paul William DeRouen
Deputy Paul DeRouen succumbed to injuries sustained 22 years earlier when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to subdue a suspect.
The accident caused Deputy DeRouen to lose one leg and his hip, and he suffered massive abdominal injuries. He died as a result of complications of the injuries suffered in the original incident.
Deputy DeRouen had served with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department for 8 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
